About half of all teachers leave teaching within five years. As a result, there are a lot of inexperienced teachers in classrooms.
The situation is often no better when you look at high income schools. Those students typically are ambitious and are aiming to enter ivy league and other highly selective schools. However, teachers in many of these schools complain that they come under a lot of pressure to inflate grades. Ambitious parents and students don’t … Read more
Sometimes correspondence education is called Correspondence Courses, Extension Courses, Extended Studies, Home Study, Continuing Education, External Studies, Self-Paced Studies, Independent Studies and Distance Learning (See Reference 1). Similarly, distance education is also called Cyber Education, Online Education, Virtual Education, Technology-Supported Education, Hybrid Education and Distributed Learning. Given the plethora of educational delivery modes currently available, students often get confused over the similarities and differences between correspondence education and distance education, further compounded by the fact that there are still other online delivery modes, such as synchronous live chats or hybrid online classes, among others. And readers have added another dozen of their favorite websites to the readers’ recommendations list at the end of this article. A. Kudos to you for your research. I am all for accessibility too. I am sorry to hear you had a bad experience with Dr. Lane. Unfortunately, there are a lot of bad feelings out there and strong prejudices. I quoted his book because it is highly regarded in deaf academic circles and is recommended reading in some sign language education programs. By the way, I don’t quote Dr. Ling because his work has been discounted by leading researchers. I once attended a lecture years ago that countered and tore apart a lot of his research.

I use this as one of a number of activities when I teach the continents (I have classroom helpers who make this possible). I just have one jigsaw puzzle and students work on it in groups of 4. I time them to see which group can finish the fastest. In the United States and in first world nations, with the increase of education. there has been an increase in the number of small families. There is a correlation between high intelligence, education, and small families. People who are highly intelligent and educated tend to believe in family planning. They know that before they have children, emotional, psychological, and socioeconomic factors must be considered. They believe in having children that they can afford. They realize also that children in order to thrive and develop, must have more than the rudiments in life. They must be exposed to the higher human needs and the better things in life such as cultural, intellectual, and cultural activities. They believe that having children should not be a happenstance but well-thought out and planned for the benefit of the entire family unit particularly the children. The SAI course has served as the next step for many of these students. It’s unlikely that they will enter the general education population; however, SAI courses tend to be closely aligned with regular ones. Only modifications and some accommodation are used in these courses.
