I disagree with the author’s last point; graduating from a school does not make a person professional. It takes knowledge and experience to be considered a professional. Also, after graduating high school, students still have to spend a lot of money to get their bachelors, masters, or doctorates. Based on my experience in US, having a college degree increases the chances of being employed.
