I think blaming teachers is extremely unfair. They are part of a bureaucracy with no real control over what to teach and how to teach. Teachers don’t control curricula, standards or testing. They have to make do with whatever materials, worksheets and curricula they are given, even if they believe that they are ineffective. They have to prepare students for tests that often don’t effectively test student ability. The belief that teachers are responsible for educational failure has lead to ideas like merit pay and compensation based on student performance. I’m so impressed with this hub in particular Tony, (you’ve been busy recently). I’ve long since felt that much of the education that young people get at school is simply a training (indoctrination) given in order to maintain the status quo, and that it’s sheer insolence, and an insult to democracy that the World establishment has decided to thrust young people into debt to achieve that end.
Facebook. Who discovered the Facebook? Where did he start the discovery? Mark Zuckerberg discovered Facebook and it started when he was in Harvard University. Today, many people are able to get their problems solved with the discovery made by this young man. He … Read more
The periodic table of elements is a very useful tool for both chemistry students and chemists. It shows all known natural elements as well as every synthetic one made in labs. Each element is placed in its own box along with several numbers. Interpreting the numbers can provide valuable information about the element. The table can be a bit overwhelming for chemistry students, however. Games and puzzles can be very useful in helping them to understand it. These activities can also be great fun. This bit I don’t. Kids can get structure and socialization from other sources besides a traditional brick-and-mortar school. Successful home-school parents are usually highly organized and structured people to begin with, so they can impart the structure thing on their kids. Also, there are many home-school cooperatives where kids get together and socialize. Plus there’s municipal sports leagues, church youth groups, 4-H, stuff like that.

In formal education, a curriculum is the set of courses and their content offered at a school or university As an idea, curriculum stems from the Latin word for race course , referring to the course of deeds and experiences through which children grow to become mature adults A curriculum is prescriptive and is based on a more general syllabus which merely specifies what topics must be understood and to what level to achieve a particular grade or standard.
However, if the person you are modeling yourself after is motivated by greed, you do not need to follow in their footsteps entirely. You can pick and choose which characteristics to emulate. You can emulate their ambition, but not their greed. You can incorporate their strategies without incorporating their ethics.

Wall art for kid’s rooms can do more than just decorate – it can educate. I find that posters are usually reasonable in price and easily interchangeable. As your baby grows to toddler and, eventually, enters school, your child can learn by being surrounded with updated and topical posters. From the basics of the alphabet, numbers, shapes, colors, cars, farm and wild animals , as well as the ever-popular dinosaurs to the elements of science, chemistry and even guitar chords. Posters are educational art tools that are easily referenced as as teaching aids. Melanie has just published her first book, and it’s a great one! It’s packed with information for the beginning student, but even more for parents and teachers of new piano students. He did, without much success, try to hire a Governess to look after them during weekdays when he was away working in Bristol; but that’s another story.
All three of my kids went to Montessori schools, and I wouldn’t have changed that for anything. Despite the fact that the system lets kids work at their own pace, my kids all wound up reading by Kindergarten age. Don’t have any, but saw this for a friend. Sending … Read more

This writer engaged in extensive research examining the lives of black males and the educational system in America for a dissertation proposal. The findings of the research are detailed in the following paragraphs. I have to admit that I normally scan through lenses with heavy content…but your writing style sucked me in from the first line to the last. VERY nicely done. There is no adequate support for inclusive education from the concerned stakeholders. In most of developing countries, most of the parents of the disabled learners are cautious about placing their children in an inclusion program because of fears that the children will be ridiculed by other children, or be unable to develop regular life skills in an academic classroom. This is mainly attributed to poor policy implementation. Many governments in the developing countries have not been able to effectively implement inclusive education policy framework. In some countries like Kenya, the education policy is an exclusively one-sided policy and fails to meet the needs of the challenged learners in inclusive education arrangement. … Read more
