New evidence on the long-term effects of grade retention in third grade shows some good news among the nuance. I believe many of homeless do not want to work. So sad. Living on the streets is time consuming and hard work. Many become so adjusted to homeless it becomes a way of life. Begging bread each day is a norm. Scriptures say not to beg bread. Jesus was talking to HIS disciples. He told them He would provide. He made the way and their work was to share the good news. They lived in lack much of the time and much of the time lived in plenty. Paul lived in lack and he also experienced the finer things though the church of God. Paul learned how to be content in feast or famine. His joy was full in Jesus Christ. He knew His eternal home. It is all about Jesus for me as it should be. I am not perfect there is only one perfect. We all fall short the glory of God.
This is really interesting. I’ve always wondered what the kids perspective would be once they were all grown up after homeschooling. Socialization, after school activities, and college … Read more
New evidence on the long-term effects of grade retention in third grade shows some good news among the nuance. I agree that there are many ways in which to educate a child, and that it is in their benefit to be educated. My concern is the federal governments control over what and how a child learns. I feel that most children don’t fit the mold of traditional schooling, whether that be public, private, home school or even unschooling. Some will learn things later, that are currently required for them to learn at certain ages.
Even more impressive than the accuracy of his mental calculator is his ability to develop a program that can help others gain the same expertise. While being good at something can often make it harder to teach that subject, Byster firmly grasps the importance of critical thinking, which he combines with memorization techniques in order to teach his pupils how to become masters of math.
Such parents believe that the more children they have, the better although they can least afford to take care of them. Their children because they grow up in disadvantated circumstances, oftentimes become problematic to the school system and later to society. … Read more
With the internet, universal access to education is possible, but its potential is hindered by increasingly restrictive copyright laws and incompatible technologies. The Open Education program at Creative Commons works to minimize these barriers, supporting the CC mission through education, advocacy and outreach on using the right licenses and open policies to maximize the benefits of open educational resources (OER) and the return on investment in publicly funded education resources. Our work cuts across all levels of education (primary – secondary – tertiary) and sectors of industry (non-profit – corporate – government). Similarities – in systems or even in ideas – that schools share internationally have led to an increase in international student exchanges. The European Socrates- Erasmus Program 38 facilitates exchanges across European universities. The Soros Foundation 39 provides many opportunities for students from central Asia and eastern Europe. Programs such as the International Baccalaureate have contributed to the internationalization of education. The global campus online, led by American universities, allows free access to class materials and lecture files recorded during the actual classes.

We work on paper and stick the work in his book, for every piece of work we do. It cuts out a lot of stress and anxiety. It is. I only wish I had had the same opportunity when I was a kid. Having said that, the fact that we had to go to school was balanced by the freedom we had outside of school hours.
I did read your comments Deidre and I just happen to disagree not from people who write about this, but from living the experience. I only know that my son is ahead of the class with reading in a mainstreamed environment with having ASL as his first language. And you are biased if you are using dogma ideas when you are talking about someone’s culture or ideas that you disagree with. It’s not a religion but a culture which is quite obvious to most people. My prior post is also not shown here. All the best to you and yours.

Wall art for kid’s rooms can do more than just decorate – it can educate. I find that posters are usually reasonable in price and easily interchangeable. As your baby grows to toddler and, eventually, enters school, your child can learn by being surrounded with updated and topical posters. From the basics of the alphabet, numbers, shapes, colors, cars, farm and wild animals , as well as the ever-popular dinosaurs to the elements of science, chemistry and even guitar chords. Posters are educational art tools that are easily referenced as as teaching aids. Now, don’t get the wrong idea—like the video above mentions, I’m not saying college doesn’t work for some people. Having a college degree is better than not having a degree at all. For some, they system matches their learning style and they excel. The point is, not everyone learns the same way or at the same pace. Certain teaching styles work better for some people than others and this is where the education system fails; it refuses to recognize the variations in an individual’s cognitive abilities.

When your civilization discovers a new technology, a relevant quote pops up and is read by Leonard Nimoy. Home schooling, or ‘home education’ has always been legal in the UK. It was enshrined in law to ‘protect’ the wealthy from having to send their children to school. It is becoming an ever-increasing wave, as more and more people come round to the idea that school, as an institution is not working for all kids in the UK. Some thrive, of course, but many don’t.
Many people do take BPO jobs as a last resort, but then they do earn well. If you are an undergraduate and are willing to spend many years at a particular company, then making it to the higher levels such as assistant process leader, process leader and other higher positions is not difficult.

In the United States and in first world nations, with the increase of education. there has been an increase in the number of small families. There is a correlation between high intelligence, education, and small families. People who are highly intelligent and educated tend to believe in family planning. They know that before they have children, emotional, psychological, and socioeconomic factors must be considered. They believe in having children that they can afford. They realize also that children in order to thrive and develop, must have more than the rudiments in life. They must be exposed to the higher human needs and the better things in life such as cultural, intellectual, and cultural activities. They believe that having children should not be a happenstance but well-thought out and planned for the benefit of the entire family unit particularly the children. Woo! I’m lensrolling this to my own free clip art lens. I don’t focus enough on educational clip art, because I keep having to satisfy folks who are making Squidoo lenses, which have a commercial component. But students and teachers have a wider range of opportunities, since they can use education-only clip art.

We’ve helped out a few relatives when they were in this situation. The current economy is full of too many low paying jobs and too many part-time ones. Don’t worry about anything… no point. Take it day by day and let him guide you towards the activities that he is interested in. You can easily demonstrate to him that reading is not a great big hairy obstacle by integrating it into the things he likes – we need to be able to read planting instructions on seed packets, for example. At the same time, I am convinced there is an optimal time for every kid to learn to read, you kind of have to feel your way into it. Good luck!
