Wall art for kid’s rooms can do more than just decorate – it can educate. I find that posters are usually reasonable in price and easily interchangeable. As your baby grows to toddler and, eventually, enters school, your child can learn by being surrounded with updated and topical posters. From the basics of the alphabet, numbers, shapes, colors, cars, farm and wild animals , as well as the ever-popular dinosaurs to the elements of science, chemistry and even guitar chords. Posters are educational art tools that are easily referenced as as teaching aids. Good hub. Similar to what Jean Piaget defined as the end goal of education: autonomy, both in the character and intellectual spheres. Keep up the good work! Terrific article! I wish every teacher and parent could see this.

Yes, actually. My twin nephews went to a Waldorf school for a few years. There are pro and cons. I have a lot going on, so maybe you could ask specific questions. Firstly there is the issue of very under-qualified teachers doing their best to cope with a curriculum for which they have had inadequate preparation and for which the resources are also inadequate. All the news about long-term unemployed young people, who are burdened with more than $90,000 of college debt is discouraging some young people from attending college.
Bromine is too reactive to exist as an element in nature. It’s found in compounds instead. The element can be produced in the lab. Bringing education leaders together from across the aisle and across states, our gatherings provide opportunities to interact, learn and collaborate.

New skills and knowledge can spark a lifetime of change. Every day, EDC’s programs in education, health, and economic development deliver life-changing opportunities to those who need them most. I don’t expect my chemistry and science students to memorize the order of elements in the periodic table. They will have easy access to a version of the table throughout their education. In my school, there’s a copy on classroom and lab walls, in textbooks, in the students’ daily planners, on the school computers via the Internet, and often on the students’ portable electronic devices as well. The senior students are even given a periodic table on their government exam.
Too much praise makes children overly dependent on others’ opinions. Studies show parents make a more positive impact when they extol their children’s effort and not their performance. Still, it’s interesting to read about them. Life is the most exciting opportunity we have. But we have one shot. You graduate from college once, and that’s it. You’re going out of that nest. And you have to find that courage that’s deep, deep, deep in there. Every step of the way.

New skills and knowledge can spark a lifetime of change. Every day, EDC’s programs in education, health, and economic development deliver life-changing opportunities to those who need them most. A bulletin board works well for a jeopardy board. One way to set up the game is as follows. I won’t counter #4, but would like to mention for those students who have a serious hobby or interest, they have more time to pursue it. For me, it was writing fiction. For my older brother, it was computers and robots.
Again, taking the case of India, the education system is geared to making an engineer or a doctor or an MBA of every student. The pressure on students is so much that many commit suicide, unable to cope up. Scribenet – thanks for the warm and kind words. While homeless people do commit crimes, sometimes their only crime is being without a place to sleep. It often doesn’t take long for them to get criminal records without doing anything wrong. The charges can be loitering, trespassing or unauthorized camping for falling asleep in a place not designated as a residence. Oddly … Read more
Under the 1833 Factory Act no child could work in factories under the age of nine; and the hours children could work was limited, according to their age e.g. 9 to 13 year olds could not work for more than nine hours, and 13 to 18 year olds could not work for more than 12 hours a day. Let’s put it this way, I am stubborn and no one in this world will ever tell me who is good or bad for me. I date/marry whom I like and to hell with education. If you can’t make a relationship work based on other factors then maybe you need to take a deep look at what your values in like are.
Delayed marriage: delayed marriage has many advantages for the individual, the community, and the country. Women who delay their marriage will have shorter reproductive spans and therefore, will tend to have fewer children than women who marry earlier. Likewise, young people who delay marriage will tend to have smaller families, be able to pursue education for self-fulfillment and gainful employment, and be able to help improve the welfare of parents, brothers and sisters.

I think blaming teachers is extremely unfair. They are part of a bureaucracy with no real control over what to teach and how to teach. Teachers don’t control curricula, standards or testing. They have to make do with whatever materials, worksheets and curricula they are given, even if they believe that they are ineffective. They have to prepare students for tests that often don’t effectively test student ability. The belief that teachers are responsible for educational failure has lead to ideas like merit pay and compensation based on student performance. I know I sound just like a teacher, but reading is the most important thing you can do to help your child through life. You’ll have to trust me on that one! Here is a BBC Literacy article that talks about how research shows that fewer children are reading in their spare time.

The gender wage gap still exists though it can appear to be less of a problem than it really is. This is due to more women with college degrees ultimately earning more than their less educated male counterparts such that the gender wage gap appears to have significantly narrowed. However, if men were achieving the same level of education at the same numbers as women, men would be earning on average 4 to 5 percent more than women given they are paid more for the same jobs and with the right education are more likely to be hired for advanced positions than women. Additionally, men’s unemployment rate would be one half to one percent lower than women’s rate.
