The democratic government consisted of 6,000 assembly members, all of whom were adult male citizens. The assembly voted on issues throughout Athens. In order for a law to pass, the number of votes needed to be a majority. But in order to banish or exile someone, all 6,000 votes were needed. I would not have put the above statement into this hub because it is simply not true. Education is about liberation and not indoctrination but you can only enhance on freedom because freedom is an impossibility. Nothing is free and anybody who thinks carefully about freedom will know they need certain things in their life to even have a life so can never truly be free.

Although one of my professors in graduate school had mentioned that exercise increases learning and improves brain function, I didn’t really believe it until I experienced it. When my children were young, I discovered that they learned better if they were being active. Instead of sitting on a sofa going over the multiplication tables, for example, it was more productive to walk down the street bouncing a ball back and forth between us as we studied math facts. I’d call out a fact while bouncing the ball to my child, and he’d respond with the answer while bouncing the ball back to me. It was fun, it got us outside for a little sunshine, we improved our brain function and learning with the exercise, and we studied the math facts at the same time!
Great read! We do the same, though our kids watch a little more than 30 min a day. One of the best and our kids fav’s is the Leap Frog DVD’s. My 4 yr old son was having … Read more
New skills and knowledge can spark a lifetime of change. Every day, EDC’s programs in education, health, and economic development deliver life-changing opportunities to those who need them most. Population education is different from traditional subjects like English Language, Mathematics, etc which aim to present a body of factual information and methodologies. The aim of population education is to enable students to explore personal values, attitudes, and beliefs as well as to develop the abilities to freely choose a rational course of action. Population education therefore requires emphasizing analysis, starting from collective inquiry and leading to appraisal of issues or problems that affect the learners and their social environments.

Vital Registration is another way of obtaining data on population size, composition, and structures and can substitute for census programmes. Vital registration refers to the process of keeping accurate records of events in the life of an individual right from birth to death. It is also used for tax deduction purposes, and for many administrative purposes essential for national development. Other sources of population data are sample surveys, population registers, and other non-traditional sources.

Vocabulary and spelling should also be taught with the rest of the curriculum and not separate from it. If the students are reading a novel, the spelling and vocabulary words should come from that novel. Everything should be … Read more
Real estate is said to be one of the best investments that an individual can make, but if this is true, why do so many people fail at it? The truth is that an adequate real estate education is needed in order to help you out along the way because the real estate industry can truly turn on you in a real hurry if you are not prepared. Real estate investments are very likely to yield a generous return if the proper steps are taken, but too many people simply do not have the skills to make these deals happen. These are the people who did not take the time to get a real estate investing education and, therefore, will be more likely to fail when things do not go according to plan. Great lens. As a kindergarten and first grade teacher, I can never find enough good books at the easiest reading level so I write them myself. There are some great learn to read apps but most of them focus on phonics skills and any books they include are too hard for the very youngest readers. I have just released an iPad app called The Reading Train, which is loaded with more than a hundred easy to read books on 3 levels, a picture dictionary, songbooks and a great quiz train game to extend the learning after every book. It is perfect for ages 4-6, as well as English language learners and children … Read more

I don’t expect my chemistry and science students to memorize the order of elements in the periodic table. They will have easy access to a version of the table throughout their education. In my school, there’s a copy on classroom and lab walls, in textbooks, in the students’ daily planners, on the school computers via the Internet, and often on the students’ portable electronic devices as well. The senior students are even given a periodic table on their government exam.
Too much praise makes children overly dependent on others’ opinions. Studies show parents make a more positive impact when they extol their children’s effort and not their performance. Crime reduction: This is another importance of education to nations. How can education reduce crime? A reader of this article may be confused when the introductory part of this page included ‘crime reduction’ as one of the educational importance to nations. People separate themselves from crime because they were taught the consequences of any committed crime. These punishments of any offense make many to detach from anything that will lead them to crime. Again, with education, people learn to be disciplined and … Read more
I have seen men marry ladies who only have basic education and they support their partners through further education and it’s brilliant. I keep clean with sponge baths. Wash clothes at laundromat and stay well hidden in the woods. Thank you, Billy. We all know the system is broken, but I can do nothing but admire teachers that devoted so much time to educating.

During the time that my children attended a Waldorf School I was amazed at the positive influence it had on our family. Although they attend school during the day, they carry home with them a peaceful yet enthusiastic sense of the world and this is engaging and contagious. I feel that all families could benefit from this educational method, even without having a child attend a Waldorf School, so I have made a list of suggestions. Gibbs (2004) maintained that black males have been stereotyped and often described …by one or more of the five Ds: dumb, deprived, dangerous, deviant and disturbed” And even though these words …are seldom spoken or written, they reflect mainstream cultural values and are often reflected in educational policy and practice”. He further argues that black men have been miseducated, mishandled, mislabeled and mistreated.
Thank you for your comment! It’s true, college is so expensive, and tuition keeps on rising! I was lucky that I was able to get grants and scholarships to pay my way through.
